So, You Wanna Mod Bonelab on Your Quest 2, Huh?
Let's be honest. You're probably here because vanilla Bonelab is getting a little… stale. Don't worry, I get it. I’m not judging. Actually, I am judging… you have excellent taste!
Modding it is where the real fun begins. Prepare for absurdity!
Getting Started: The Basics (Or What I Think Are Basics)
First. You'll need a computer. Yeah, I know. Your Quest 2 is supposed to free you! Ironic, isn't it?
Connect your Quest 2 to your PC using a USB-C cable. Make sure it's a good one. None of those flimsy phone chargers.
Enable developer mode on your headset. It's in the Meta Quest app settings. Don't ask me why it's hidden. It just is.
The Wonderful World of SideQuest
Download SideQuest. This is your magic portal to modding bliss. It's like a secret handshake for VR enthusiasts.
Install SideQuest on your computer. It's pretty straightforward. Just follow the instructions.
Make sure your Quest 2 is connected and SideQuest can see it. If it doesn't, something's wrong. Check your cable and drivers.
Finding and Installing Mods (The Fun Part!)
Now, find some mods. Mod.io is a great place to start. It’s like a treasure trove of virtual goodies.
Download the mods you want. Usually, they come as .zip files. Don't unzip them. (For most mods anyway... sometimes you need to.)
In SideQuest, there's a handy-dandy "Install APK from file" button. Use it. Select your mod .zip file.
SideQuest will work its magic. Don't unplug your Quest 2. Patience, young Padawan!
A Few Words of Warning (Because Lawyers)
Not all mods are created equal. Some might break your game. Save often!
Some mods might be… weird. Download responsibly. Don’t blame me if you end up fighting giant chickens.
Also, backup your Bonelab save files regularly. Trust me on this one. You’ll thank me later.
Troubleshooting: When Things Go Wrong (And They Will)
Game crashing? Try removing the last mod you installed. Sometimes, it's just that simple.
SideQuest not connecting? Restart everything. Computer, Quest 2, SideQuest… the whole shebang.
Still having problems? Google is your friend. Or, you know, ask in a VR forum. People are usually helpful… mostly.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Here's my unpopular opinion: Modding is better than the base game. Fight me!
Seriously, though. Modding breathes new life into Bonelab. It's like getting a whole new game for free (sort of).
Experiment, have fun, and don't be afraid to break things. That's half the fun, right?
Enjoy Your Modded Bonelab!
You did it! You've successfully modded Bonelab. Now go forth and wreak havoc. Virtually, of course.
Enjoy your new avatars, weapons, and levels. The possibilities are endless. Well, almost.
And remember, with great modding power comes great responsibility. Or, you know, just have a good time. That works too.
“Remember to sanitize your hands after extensive modding sessions. Especially if you download a mod with questionable origins.”
