Okay, so you’re chilling in the Central Loop, all fancy with your new skills and gear. Life's good, right? Then suddenly, BAM! You get a wave of nostalgia. You miss Old Villedor. You remember those simpler times, those charming, zombie-infested alleys. The good ol' days!
Well, don't panic. It's easier than you think. Think of it like going back to your hometown after moving to the big city. You just need to remember the way.
The Subway System: Your Time Machine
Forget those fancy fast travel posters. The real secret lies beneath the streets. I'm talking about the subway system, baby!
Find a subway station. They're marked on your map, usually with a train icon. Imagine stumbling upon a perfectly preserved subway system in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. It’s like finding a vintage record player in your grandma's attic. Pretty cool, huh?
Power Up the Past
Most subway stations aren't exactly ready for rush hour. You'll need to kickstart the power. Think of it as jump-starting your DeLorean, only instead of time travel, you’re going to a slightly less advanced, more zombified part of town.
Look for a generator or some kind of power source. You'll likely have to do a little parkour and maybe smack a few infected to get it running. It's all part of the fun, right? Like a little pre-trip workout.
Choosing Your Destination
Once the power's on, you'll have access to a map. This isn't your average "Where are we going for pizza?" map. This is a "Let's go back in time (almost)" map. Select Old Villedor. It should be pretty obvious.
Hop on the train and enjoy the ride! Okay, “enjoy” might be a strong word. It’s probably dark, maybe a little bumpy, and definitely not scenic. But hey, you're going home!
The Not-So-Fine Print
Keep in mind that going back isn't always as easy as it sounds. This isn't a round trip ticket to paradise, more like a one way ticket to a familiar but slightly less developed area.
You can switch back and forth between the Central Loop and Old Villedor. You can't bring quest progress between the two areas. Quests in the Central Loop stay in the Central Loop, and quests in Old Villedor stay in Old Villedor.
Think of it like visiting two different branches of the same coffee shop. They both serve coffee, but they have their own unique menus and atmospheres. You can visit both, but you can't order a latte from one branch and expect it to be ready when you arrive at the other. It just doesn't work that way.
Why Bother? (Seriously, Though)
Okay, so maybe Old Villedor isn't as shiny and new as the Central Loop. And yeah, maybe the zombies are a little tougher. But Old Villedor has a certain charm. Like an old, comfy pair of shoes.
Plus, you might have unfinished business there. Maybe you missed a side quest. Or maybe you just want to see if that one merchant is still selling that awesome weapon. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even find a new appreciation for the Central Loop after spending some time in the “old neighborhood.”
So, go ahead, take a trip down memory lane. Just watch out for the Volatiles. They haven't changed a bit.
Have fun exploring, Pilgrim!
